What happened to the Misty we grew up with in the 90s?

OKAY I need to reblog this because I have seen posts like this 35346 times in the “Misty” tag. I apologize to the OP, I’m not angry at them in particular.

First off, the one on the left is Misty from the anime (the cartoon), the one on the right is Misty from the games. They are basically two separate characters. So no, the Misty on the left didn’t grow up to become the one on the right.

Second, SHE WORKS/LIVES IN A SWIMMING POOL. OMG, HOW DARE SHE WEAR A SWIMSUIT IN A SWIMMING POOL. WHAT A SLUT. She should be wearing a full-body diving suit, am I right? That’s what everyone wears in swimming pools.

Third, FYI, this is what game!Misty wore in Pokémon Red/Blue:

Oh right. A swimsuit.
This was in 1998.

While here’s what she wore in Gold/Silver/Crystal, of which the “omg so slutty” outfit is a remake of:

oh god. Another swimsuit! And this was in 2000.

So yeah, nothing happened to the Misty you knew in the 90s. Because that isn’t the Misty you knew in the 90s.
